People use the words I love you, to get sex or to make them tell you something you would never tell anyone. It's a few words to get something from you. Love is a word it’s just a word that sends dopamine through your brain. It is an easy word to say especially when to you it has no attachment or meaning.
However, when someone has the actions to prove love that is a different scenario. We forget to look at them and say Prove it… and by prove it I mean make them give it all to you, their time, their truths, their compassion, patience, kindness, thoughtfulness, actions not just words and affirmations but, to the point of them driving or walking to your home and helping you with anything, showing up randomly bringing you food or just to be with you, help you in and through life, they will always be there for you in any time and help you through anything. No excuses, granted they might not always be there but they will always do their best to show it. When someone says I love you… it may be for that one moment but the most beautiful type of love is when they rarely say it but, show it every day in the little things. Many people will never see that love because people grow hard and are terrified to let people in and to share their life and open their hearts. That’s what love is though it’s opening up even when you know it’s going to hurt like hell if they run away and some of us do run to see who will chase us. We will always care for our own hearts but, the ones that truly love you will chase you to the ends of the earth even if they don’t think you care for them. So next time someone says I love you… say prove it, and if they give you words walk away and let them chase you if they don’t then maybe they don’t care or maybe they’re scared. I know people crave to be loved that they allow themselves to be blind.
I'm not saying give up on it, all I'm saying is find someone, that has a similar definition of love that you do. Never settle in this short life, for things that can ruin any part of it. Just don't forget to try and let a few people in, try to love. It will hurt a few times, and I know it's scary. I hope in the end it's worth it, and for you my friend it just might be.
